Description
Bentham Youth Centre, formerly known as the Friends' Meeting House, is a building dated 1864 located on Main Street in High Bentham. It is constructed of stucco with a slate roof and features a gable end facing the street. The building has three bays, with a central entrance porch that includes pilasters and a pediment. The entrance has a moulded surround and a 20th-century door. On either side of the entrance, there are tall flanking windows with moulded surrounds, entablature, and 8-paned fixed lights. Above the entrance, there is a central panel with a similar surround to the windows, which was reputedly inscribed 'Friends Meeting House, 1864'. The pilasters support the pedimented gable.
