Description
Number 12 on Newbiggin is a mid-18th century building that stands three storeys tall. It has a rough rendered exterior made of uncoursed rubble. The facade features four windows set in moulded stone frames, with some retaining glazing bars. The two upper windows on the right are casements without glazing bars. A well-crafted moulded modillion cornice and a small parapet adorn the top of the building. At the base, there is a rendered plinth that creates a band at the ground floor cills. The entrance includes a door and fanlight housed in a well-designed stone case with shoulders and a small modillion cornice. This building is part of a group that includes numbers 2 to 12 on Newbiggin.
