Description

This is a late 18th-century building in Newbiggin. It is a three-storey structure built of coursed rubble, with a Welsh slate roof. The corners are defined by chamfered rusticated stone quoins. The front has three windows, with stucco lintels and hung sash windows containing glazing bars. A large, early 19th-century oriel window of three lights, in a canted design, sits above the front door. The first-floor windows have large glazing bars. The front door is of four panels, topped by a rectangular fanlight, and is set within a plain 19th-century stone doorcase with a cornice. A modern shop front is on the right-hand side. The building forms a group with Nos. 2 to 12 (even).
