Description
Number 2 Newbiggin, also known as the Unicorn Hotel, along with Numbers 1 and 3 Rosemary Lane, is a small two-storey building dating from the mid 18th century or earlier. The exterior is roughly rendered, with the ground floor also rendered, and it features a Welsh slate roof. The elevation facing Rosemary Lane has a roof covered with large slates and a central brick chimney stack.
There are three windows on this side, which are hung sashes without glazing bars. Additionally, there is one plain 19th-century shop window and door, along with two windows that have a door with six panels set back. The Newbiggin elevation has a taller section to the left, with one window on each storey in a moulded frame. To the right, there are two windows on the first floor, each with three lights and sliding sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor has two sash windows, one with glazing bars and one modern window. To the left, there is a stone round-headed doorcase featuring a keystone and a semi-circular fanlight.
Numbers 2 to 12 (even) form a group.
