Description
No 7 is a stable with accommodation above, built in the late 18th century and restored in 1893, as indicated by the date on the keystone. The building is constructed of rubble stone and features a French tiled roof at the front and stone slates at the back.
It has two storeys and two bays. On the left side, there is a round-arched cart entrance with voussoirs made of two rows of white brick headers, a dated keystone with the initials C.D, and stone impost blocks. This entrance has boarded double doors. On the right side, there is a later boarded garage entrance beneath a boarded loading door, which is set under a segmental arch with similar white headers. To the left of this entrance, there is a large hinged iron hoist. The rear of the cart passage has a flat-headed opening under a wood lintel.
At the back, there is a projecting extension and an extruded stone stair leading to a landing with two doors: one boarded and the other a six-panel door. Some brick patching is visible on the first floor, and there is a modern window in the left bay. One 18th-century roof truss remains. This building is included for its group value only.
