Description
Mount Pleasant House is a late 18th-century house constructed of ashlar with a slate roof. It features a central staircase plan and is two storeys high with three bays. Access to the central entrance is via three steps, which are flanked by Tuscan pilasters. The entrance includes a 20th-century door and porch. The outer bays on each floor have tripartite windows; the central light is stepped and contains 24-pane sash windows, while the flanking lights are fixed with 12 panes. The central window on the upper floor also has 24-pane sashes. All windows have plain surrounds, and there is a continuous ground floor sill band. The building has chamfered quoins, an eaves cornice, gable-end coping, and shaped kneelers, along with gable end ridge stacks. At the rear, there is a tall stair window with a round head. Inside, there is a dog-leg stair with stick balusters.
