Description

The brick walls to the north of Thirsk Hall date from the 18th century and are constructed from reddish-brown local brick using a garden wall bond. They feature stone coping and brick buttressing piers placed at regular intervals. Starting with a 6-foot rusticated stone pier, the wall ramps up to a height of 12 feet and curves to connect with No 1 Cemetery Road. The wall continues behind these cottages and runs along Cemetery Road until it reaches a right-angled turn to the south. The walls have group value with Thirsk Hall, St Mary's Church, and Nos 1 and 2 Cemetery Road.
