Description

The balustrade to the garden on the south side of Copt Hewick Hall dates from the late 18th century or 19th century. It is made of ashlar and stands approximately 80 centimetres high, enclosing three sides of a gravelled area directly in front of the house. The design is inspired by 17th-century strapwork, featuring geometric patterns and square section piers topped with ball finials.
