Description

The pump in front of the Village School in Newby Wiske dates from 1848 and serves as both a pump and a water trough. It features a wooden casing with a straight wrought-iron handle and a lead spout. In front of the pump is a small rectangular York stone trough, which has rounded corners and a drain hole at the low level of the front.
