Description

Hill House West is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is built with roughcast render and ashlar stone dressings, and has a stone slate roof. The house is two storeys high and follows a double-depth plan with three bays. It features quoins and, centrally, a six-panel door with an overlight containing decorative glazing bars. The door is surrounded by a moulded eared and shouldered surround. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within similar moulded surrounds. The house has coping to the left end and end stacks.

In front of the house is an ashlar plinth with saddleback coping and ashlar gate-piers. It is accompanied by cast-iron railings featuring staggered fleurs-de-lis finials and urn finials to the standards. The railings contribute to the group value of the setting.
