Description
The Knowle is a house located on Manor House Lane in South Duffield. It was built in the early to mid-18th century, with additions and alterations made in 1913. The exterior is cement rendered and features a Welsh slate roof. The house has a lobby-entry plan and a range extending to the rear. It stands two storeys high and has four first-floor windows. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door with an overlight, set within a pilastered doorcase that has brackets supporting a hood. The windows throughout are two-pane sashes with ashlar sills. A moulded band runs along the first floor, and there is a wooden dentil cornice. The building is topped with ashlar coping and kneelers, and it has a ridge stack.
