Description
Wood Hall is a house built in the early to mid-19th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of gault brick, with a red brick service wing and features ashlar dressings and a Welsh slate roof. The main block is two storeys high and has three bays. The entrance, located in the third bay, is now boarded over but originally featured a radial fanlight and was framed by a Roman Doric doorcase with a frieze and open pediment. The windows are primarily 12-pane sashes set within ashlar architraves, with the centre bay showcasing a Venetian stair window. The central window is a 12-pane sash with radial glazing at the top, flanked by two unequally-hung 3-pane sashes. The building has an overhanging ashlar cornice and a low parapet. On the left side, there is a full-height canted bay with 12-pane sashes and ashlar architraves. The service wing is two storeys high and has two bays, featuring 12-pane sashes beneath stepped ashlar lintels. At the time of the last survey, the building was disused and in a dilapidated condition.
