Description
The Long Barn at Wressle Castle Farm is a barn dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick in English garden wall bond and features a pantile roof with the two lowest courses made of stone slates. The barn has two storeys and consists of eight bays.
On the left side, there are three round brick arches with blocked tympana, with the central arch being lower than the others. The outer arches have double-leaf doors, while the central arch is blocked and contains a fixed window. To the right, there are two double-leaf board doors, with the right door situated beneath a cambered brick arch. Additionally, there is a boarded window beneath another cambered brick arch and a blocked pointed arched door. The barn includes ventilation slits, and on the first floor, there are fixed windows and a boarded pitching window, some of which are located below segmental arches. The eaves feature a dentilled course, and the gable has coping with shaped kneelers.
