Description
Castle Farmhouse is a house built around 1796, constructed of brick in Flemish bond with a Westmorland slate roof. The building is square in plan and has two storeys with three bays. It features a central entry with a pedimented timber porch supported by tapering square section piers. The porch contains a double-leaf glazed door topped by a radial fanlight, which is framed by a doorcase with fluted square section pilasters and a fluted frieze. The windows are tripartite sashes with glazing bars, set beneath flat rubbed brick arches, except for an 8-pane sash located in the center of the first floor. All windows are fitted with stone sills. The house has a dentilled eaves course and a hipped roof with end stacks.
