Description
Holly Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with restoration carried out in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick in English garden wall bond, with the lower half rendered and a replacement pantile roof. The building has a three-cell lobby-entry plan and is a single storey with attics. The entrance features a four-panel door flanked by casement windows, with a two-light Yorkshire sash window at the extreme left. Cambered brick arches are present throughout the structure, and there is a dentilled eaves course. The ridge stacks are present, with the one on the right having been rebuilt. Inside, there is a large inglenook fireplace with a cambered bressumer. The roof consists of simple A trusses with cambered collars and butt purlins, and it also includes knee pieces that connect the principal trusses to the ceiling beams.
