Description
Nos 116 and 118, known as Bay House, is a house from the 17th century that was formerly an inn, with the left-hand section (No 118) possibly built a little later. The exterior is roughcast over rubble, topped with a stone slate roof and a stone ridge. The building has two storeys and a three-unit plan. On the ground floor, there is a two-light square mullion window at the far left, along with double chamfered stone mullion windows featuring hoodmoulds, with five and four lights respectively. These windows are mirrored above without hoodmoulds, although the far left has two smaller double chamfered surrounds. The entrance has a plain doorway with a modern door. The right-hand gable has kneelers, and there are three chimneys.
Inside, at the rear, there is a walled-in two-light double chamfered stone mullion window. The interior features a small square fireplace with a chamfered surround, another fireplace with an elliptical head, and a stone spiral staircase in the left-hand gable. There is a cambered tie beam in No 118.
