Description
Shady Grove Farmhouse is a pair of houses, possibly originally one, dating from the late 17th century but altered over time. Number 5 is built of dressed stone, while Number 7 is made from coursed Tunbridge Wells sandstone rubble, both covered with a continuous stone slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high. Number 5 features a canted bay window from the late 18th or early 19th century, which has three sash windows with glazing bars on each floor. Number 7 has a three-light square mullion window on the ground floor and a five-light double chamfered stone mullion window on the first floor, along with a double chamfered surround that has been converted to a sash window. There is a chamfered doorway set back to the right, accompanied by a two-light chamfered stone mullion window. Above the doorway are the initials TT and an unreadable date. At the rear, there is a small three-light stone mullion window. The property has three chimneys.
