Description

Mill Bridge is a bridge over Cod Beck, built in 1789 by John Carr. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features three segmental arches with cut-waters that have a semi-circular plan. The bridge has a band and a coped parapet, with cylindrical domed piers on the north side. The parapet has been shortened on the south side, where some rebuilding appears to have occurred to the east. John Carr's survey on North Riding Bridges is documented in the Book of Bridges from 1772 to 1803.
