Description
This is a disused pump and tank located approximately 10 metres north-east of the former school in Eryholme. The structure dates from the mid-19th century and is made of cast iron. The pump features a circular stem with a fluted top and a fluted finial. The spout, which projects to the right, is adorned with acanthus leaf decoration, and there is a handle at the rear. To the right of the pump is a rectangular wrought-iron tank that has two bars across the top at one end, positioned below the spout for holding vessels. The tank also has a semicircular indentation in the centre of its far end, which serves as an overflow.
