Description

The Village Pump and Trough, located on the south-west side of Main Street in Rufforth, is a mid-19th century structure made of cast iron. The pump is octagonal in shape and stands approximately 1.5 metres tall. It features a base and relief decoration on the shaft that is based on a Greek key pattern. The pump has a curved outflow pipe at the front and a handle on the right side, along with a frieze that also has relief decoration. The original cap has been replaced with a wooden copy. The trough is rectangular with rounded ends and has a plain design with a massive rim.
