Description
Ye Widgeons Roost is a house located on Church Fold, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed from coursed gritstone and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of four bays, with a single-storey porch that has a 20th-century board door in the second bay.
To the left of the porch, there is a 3-light double-chamfered mullion window beneath a string course, while to the right, there are two- and three-light flat-faced mullion windows with plain surrounds, all fitted with 20th-century leaded-light casements. On the first floor, the left side has a 4-light double-chamfered mullion window with a king-mullion, and the right side features two- and three-light mullion windows similar to those on the ground floor, all with lead cames. The house is adorned with shaped kneelers, ashlar coping, and corniced end stacks.
