Description
Springfield Farmhouse and Barn are a mid-to-late 18th-century farmhouse and barn. The buildings are constructed of coursed squared gritstone with a graduated stone slate roof. The farmhouse is a two-storey, two-bay structure with an additional two-bay barn attached. The farmhouse has quoins. The central entrance features a four-panel door, though the surround is obscured by a porch. There are three-light, flat-faced mullion windows on the ground and first floors, with the mullions slightly recessed. The left gable has shaped kneelers and gable coping, and there are end stacks. The barn has wide byre doors in plain surrounds on both sides. Three small square vent or putlog holes are positioned above the doors. The right gable features shaped kneelers and gable coping. Changes in the barn's masonry indicate that the barn range was originally a single-storey building.
