Description
Folly Hall is an early 18th-century house that has undergone mid-19th-century alterations. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building stands tall with three storeys and is arranged in a three-by-one bay configuration, with an additional two-bay wing added to the rear on the right side. The house has rusticated quoins and a central entrance that consists of double six-panel doors set within an architrave, which is supported by consoles and topped with a triangular pediment.
The windows throughout the building are four-pane sashes. The first-floor centre window is set in an eared architrave, while the second-floor centre window is in a plain architrave. The remaining windows are framed by projecting plain surrounds. There are projecting bands at both the first and second floor levels, along with shaped gutter brackets and kneelers. The gable copings and end stacks feature cornices. On the left return of the building, there are three tiers of blind windows set in projecting surrounds. The interior has not been inspected.
