Description

Bride Cross Farmhouse and barn are an early to mid-18th century building complex located off High Lane in Little Timble. The buildings are constructed of coursed squared gritstone with graduated stone slate roofs.

The farmhouse is two storeys and two bays in height with a lower, four-bay barn attached. The farmhouse features quoins. A 20th-century board door, set within a raised sawn-stone surround bearing the inscription "E.R." and a leaf motif, is located to the left of the centre. Three-light, flat-faced mullion windows are arranged on both floors, each set within a projecting surround. The farmhouse has shaped kneelers, gable copings, and corniced end stacks. A lean-to addition to the left has a board door in a plain surround to the right, and an opening above.

The barn has a central cart entrance with board doors, quoined jambs, and a raised wooden lintel. The end byre doors have tie-stone jambs. A stable window in a plain surround is located to the right of the left door. Two rectangular pitching doors are at first-floor level on the left and right sides, alongside three slit vents. Bays three and four feature rectangular pitching doors. A gable coping is visible on the right end of the barn.
