Description
The Timble Inn is a late 18th-century house, now an inn, located on the south side of Main Street, Great Timble. It is constructed of coursed gritstone rubble with a graduated stone slate roof and quoins. The building originally comprised two bays, with a later addition to the right. The central entrance has a board door with tie-stone jambs, flanked by flat-faced mullion windows of three stepped lights on the ground and first floors. A shaped kneeler and gable coping are present on the left, and there are banded end stacks. Inside, a large fireplace with a stone surround is situated on the right. The added bay to the right features a blocked doorway to the left and a four-pane sash window to the right; a taller window is above this, both set in plain surrounds. Recessed bays to the left are not included within the scope of the listing.
