Description
Plumtree Farmhouse is a building that dates back to 1778 and was originally two cottages that have been combined into one house. It is constructed from coursed squared gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The house has two storeys and three bays. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door with tie-stone jambs, and above the lintel is a stone plaque inscribed with "J" and "WE 1778". To the right of the entrance is a similar blocked doorway. The ground and first floors have paired four-pane sash windows set in stone surrounds, with the first-floor windows being smaller. Above the entrance, there is a deeper four-pane sash window. The building also has shaped kneelers, gable copings, and end banded stacks. There is a single-storey outbuilding to the left and a barn to the right, but these are not included in the listing. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
