Description

The doorway to the grounds of Temple Lodge dates from the 1820s and is set through a boundary wall. The outer east face features a four-centred arch with a hood mould, made from two stone blocks, which rests on monolithic jambs that are set on slightly projecting bases. Above the arch, the walling is made of ashlar stone and rises to form a crow-stepped pediment, which includes a cornice. The timber doors are panelled and consist of two narrow leafs that are hung on strap hinges on the inside.
