Description

'Abbot Huby's' Wall, dating from around 1505, is located on the west side of St Marygate in Ripon, extending from number 26 to Minster Road. The wall features a rubble plinth with a pebble upper section and ashlar in between. The southern part of the wall is constructed from a mix of hammer-dressed limestone and pebble sandstone. It has a deeply moulded plinth and includes a gateway to Old Deanery Close, which is designed with a three-centred arch and two hollow chamfers.
