Description

The wall in front of the Old Deanery dates from the late 15th century or early 16th century. It shares the same design as, and is likely a continuation of, "Abbot Huby's Wall" at St Mary's Gate. The wall is made of ashlar limestone and features a chamfered plinth, a slightly higher moulded plinth, and moulded coping. There are a pair of 18th-century gatepiers with moulded cornices, a moulded gateway with a segmental cusped head, and a 19th-century door with ogee panelling.
