Description

Number 9 Skinner Street is a building with origins in the 18th century. It stands three storeys tall and features two sash windows without glazing bars. The ground floor has a shop front that has been replaced, which includes four Doric panelled pilasters supporting a plain frieze and cornice. To the left of the shop front is a four-panel door, and there is a modern tiled stall riser. The building has an eaves cornice and is included for its group value with the Whitby and District Social Club and the consecutive properties from Nos 1 to 13.
