Description
Mount Pleasant consists of a pair of late 18th century to early 19th century cottages located on Bentham Main Street in High Bentham. The cottages are constructed of stucco with stone dressing and feature a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high and have three bays.
No 9 is double fronted with an entrance that has a plain surround and a hood featuring cavetto moulding, along with a 20th-century door. The windows have plain surrounds, projecting sills, and sashes with glazing bars. No 10 has an entrance on the right side with a plain surround and a 20th-century door. There is one window per storey on the left side, also with plain surrounds and sashes with glazing bars. The cottages have rock-faced stone quoins and shaped eaves modillions. They feature gable end stacks and a central ridge stack. Notably, No 9 displays a plaque from the Royal Fire Insurance Company. The cottages are included for their group value.
