Description
The curbing to a raised flower bed, located approximately 10 metres south-east of The Orangery at Ripley Castle, is likely the former surround of a pool, now repurposed as a flower bed. It was constructed between 1820 and 1840 for Sir William Amcotts Ingilby. Made of gritstone, the circular curbing has a diameter of approximately 10 metres. The cyma-moulded curb stones are set on a stone plinth and stand about 40 centimetres high. This feature is listed in the North Yorkshire Historic Gardens Register as part of Ripley Castle, which is designated as Grade II.
