Description
The Ambrose Pierson panelled chest tomb, dating from around 1706, is located approximately six metres south of the nave of the Church of St Cuthbert. This chest tomb is constructed from ashlar sandstone and features a moulded base and lid. The sides of the tomb are adorned with fielded panels set in moulded frames, with one panel on the end and two on each side. The lid bears an inscription commemorating Ambrose Pierson, who died in 1706.
