Description

The Shoulder of Mutton is a house that was formerly a public house, dating from the 17th century and refronted in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of rendered stone ashlar with a pantile roof and features three eaves courses of stone slates. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a one-storey outshut on the right return. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door with an overlight, set in a plain chamfered stone surround. All windows are four-pane sashes, also in plain chamfered stone surrounds with stone sills. There are end stacks, and remnants of 17th-century windows can be found on the left gable wall. This building is included for its group value only.
