Description

Churchbye House is a late 18th-century house situated on the west side of Church Street in Kirkby Malzeard. The building is constructed of coursed, squared stone with ashlar detailing and has a graduated stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and comprises three bays. Chamfered quoins define the corners. The front features a six-panel door with a fanlight, the fanlight incorporating radial glazing bars set within a stone surround featuring Doric pilasters and a keystone. All windows are 16-pane sashes in plain stone surrounds, with a continuous sill band to the first-floor windows. Shaped kneelers and stone copings adorn the roof, with end stacks present. Wrought iron railings are attached to the house on each side of the door and extend along the front, featuring spear finialled bars and urn finials at the corners.
