Description

No. 54 High Street is a house that has been converted into a travel agency with accommodation above. It dates from the mid-18th century and is built of red brick with a Westmorland slate roof. The building has three storeys and three bays.

On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century shop front made of tiles and plate glass, with a carriage arch to the right that features a rebuilt flat arch. The first and second floors contain sash windows set in flush wood architraves, with the upper windows being shorter. These windows have projecting sills and flat arches with projecting keystones. The building also has dentilled eaves, gutter brackets, and rendered stacks at the ends.
