Description

A late 18th-century shop with storerooms above, converted in the 19th century and restored in the 20th century. The building is rendered with a Westmorland slate roof. It is three storeys high and four bays wide, with a three-bay extension to the east. The shop fills a corner site and has quoins. The main entrance is on the corner, featuring glazed double doors within an elaborately carved round-arched door case. Flanking shop windows are supported by paired and tripled console brackets for sign boards. Further shop windows to the left have early 20th-century surrounds. The first and second floors contain four-light sash windows with projecting sills. An eaves band runs along the top of the building. The roof is hipped at the west end, with a ridge stack to bay three. The extension has quoins to the side, a 20th-century shop window, two-light casement windows above, dentilled eaves, a roof light, and an end stack to the left.
