Description
The stables at Aketon Close were built around 1905 in the Vernacular Revival style. They are constructed from rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and feature slate roofs with crow-stepped gables. The building has an L-plan layout, with outer walls and gate piers that enclose a stable yard. The south front includes one large and one small carriage entrance with plank doors, while the east front has two stable doors flanked by single windows. The outer gable wall on the south side features a large Diocletian window. The south range is topped with a square ventilator that has a pyramidal roof. This building is included for its group value only.
