Description
The presbytery to the Roman Catholic Church of Saint Mary was built in 1831. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and features a Westmorland slate roof. The building has three storeys and three first-floor windows, with a central window that is blind. The entrance consists of a central six-panel door with an overlight, a bay window to the right, and a sash window with glazing bars to the left. On the first floor, there are sash windows with glazing bars. The second floor has three blind windows in a false wall that is raised to meet the eaves line of the church. There is a large chimney stack on the right side, which serves both the house and likely the church as well. At the rear, there is a central half-glazed door in a porch facing west towards the ground behind the church. A bay window is located to the left, and a six-pane sash window is to the right. The roof is hipped.
