Description
The premises occupied by Peter Olivier, Furnishers, located at 11 and 13 Bargate, date from the 18th century. This building has two storeys and features a slate roof with two brick chimneys. The top floor is rough rendered, while the ground floor is finished with modern ornamental coursed rubble.
On the first floor, there are three windows: two are hung sashes with glazing bars, and one is a three-light window without glazing bars. The ground floor includes a six-panel door set in a moulded stone surround with a small cornice and frieze, along with two windows. There is a modern two-light shop front and an additional window to the right. A cornice separates the storeys and has a slight overhang.
The right-hand section of the building is also from the 18th century and is roughcast with a slate roof. It features a loft door on the first floor and three windows, with one window on the ground floor. There is a door to the left and a carriage door to the right, with wood lintels above the windows.
Nos 1 to 13 (odd) and the premises occupied by Peter Olivier form a group.
