Description

This gas lamp post, located approximately 5 meters west of St Mary's Priory Church in Old Malton, dates from the mid-19th century. It is made of painted cast iron and stands about 4 meters high. The post features a tapering fluted shaft with decorative foliate necking, a moulded tapered crossbar, and S-shaped brackets that support a square lantern topped with an acorn finial.
