Description

Wood Holme Farmhouse is an early to mid-18th century brick farmhouse located on the north-west side of The Main Street in Aldwark. The farmhouse is constructed of reddish-brown local brick, with a first-floor band and stepped, dentilled eaves. The gables feature tumbled-in brickwork. The roof is swept with pantiles, stone coping, and brick chimneys at each end. The building is two storeys high and originally had three bays. A central entrance now features a 19th-century wooden doorcase with a modillion hood, and a panelled door with an oblong fanlight. Late 19th-century sash windows are set in flush wood architraves.
