Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace of ten properties, numbered 10 to 18, on the north side of West End, Stokesley. The buildings are constructed of ashlar and feature a moulded stone eaves cornice, with Welsh slate roofs. Each property is two storeys high and originally contained a single window. The sash windows, which retain their original openings, have plain reveals and keystones, although the glazing bars have been largely altered. Each door is set within a round-arched, moulded architrave. Number 18 has a modern ground floor projection, and a first-floor window executed in a decorative "plasterers' gothic" style. Decorative plaster fan motifs are present in the tympana above the doors. The terrace is included on the heritage list partly due to its contribution to the character of the street and its views.
