Description

56 West Green is an 18th-century building of handmade brick, with a substantial stone plinth that may be of an earlier date. The top floor appears to be from the early to mid-19th century. It has a Welsh slate roof with bracketed eaves, and a chimney on the left-hand end. The building is three storeys high and irregular in form. On the second floor are two Yorkshire sash windows. The first and ground floors each have one sash window with glazing bars, set within moulded wooden architraves, stone keyed lintels, and stone cills. The entrance features a plain door with an oblong fanlight, contained within a narrow pilastered surround.
