Description

12 West Green is an early to mid-19th century house, though it may incorporate an earlier core. The front facade is constructed of ashlar, with a Welsh slate roof featuring stone copings and corniced end chimneys. The building is divided by a banded ground floor, a first floor cill string, a top entablature and a blocking course. It is two storeys high and has three bays with wide proportions. A set of three stone steps leads to a central four-panel door with an oblong fanlight, set within a plain surround beneath a bracketed cornice and pediment. This is flanked by canted bays, each with a similar cornice. At a later date, these bays were heightened to two storeys and finished with Roman cement. The house features sash windows with glazing bars, and a small window above the door within an architrave.
