Description

Stokesley House is an early to mid-19th century brick-built residence. The walls are pale yellow brick with stone dressings, including quoins, horizontal bands, a moulded eaves cornice, and the voussoirs of a segmental-arched carriageway on the right-hand side. The roof is covered with Welsh slate, and there are three ridge chimneys constructed of pinkish brick. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window central section, a one-window west wing, and a two-window east wing. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, flat-arched brickwork above, and stone sills. A set of four steps leads to the central six-panel entrance door, which is set within a pilaster and entablature doorcase. Flanking the entrance are one-story, rounded bays with cornices and wooden window architraves.
