Description

Crag End Farmhouse is a farmhouse, possibly dating from the early 17th century, as deeds from 1612 suggest. It is constructed of ashlar stone with a stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has two bays. The windows are double-chamfered, with stone mullions. The ground floor window is of six lights, with a transom and king mullion. A hoodmould runs over this window and the doorway to the right, which has a Tudor arch and a stopped moulding to the jambs and head. Above the ground floor are a five-light and a two-light window, also with a similar hoodmould. At the rear, there are two two-light windows of the same style to the first floor. The interior contains no surviving features of interest. The walling, detail, and height of the farmhouse suggest either a 19th-century rebuilding or that it was originally larger.
