Description
Wellington House is a late 18th century or early 19th century terrace range designed to resemble a mansion, positioned at right angles to the road. It features a well-executed design in coursed stone and stands three storeys tall. The two upper storeys have five windows arranged in a 1-3-1 pattern, all fitted with hung sashes. The central window and those at either end of the second storey have three lights, with the central window lacking glazing bars and featuring shaped frames. There is a band at the cills of the second storey. The ground floor showcases four round-headed windows, also without glazing bars, which are recessed in semi-circular panels, creating a round-headed arcade connected by bands. The central entrance door to the main block is made of painted stone and is flanked by plain engaged columns, topped with a moulded cornice, a plain frieze, and a smaller cornice above. The door features a plain fanlight and two vertical panels. At either end of the side blocks, there are small 19th century doors set in plain stone cases.
