Description

Nos 1 and 3 Hurgill Road are part of an early 19th century range of small stone houses that are set back from the road, with gardens in front, creating two sides of a small square. The buildings are two storeys high, constructed of coursed rubble, and topped with an asbestos pantile roof. Each house has two windows without glazing bars. No 3 features later 19th century canted bays on the ground floor. Both houses have stone doorcases with engaged Tuscan columns and a plain entablature. No 1 is in poor repair. Nos 1 to 11a (odd) form a group.
