Description

This is a gas lamp-post located approximately 30 meters west of St Mary's Priory Church in Old Malton. It dates from the mid-19th century and is made of painted cast iron. The lamp-post stands about 5 meters high and features a tapered cylindrical shaft with decorative shaft rings. It is mounted on a tall octagonal pedestal and has a tapered crossbar with S-shaped brackets that support a square lantern topped with an acorn finial.
